Other Information:
We have been teaching Arabic and Islam in Ottawa since 1972. Presently, we assist Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) in managing the Arabic program from 9:00 to 11:30 am. We manage the Islamic Education program from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
We wrote and published our own Arabic and Islamic textbooks, which have been used by other schools and parents in Canada, the USA and the UK. We also translated and published Parts 29 and 30 (Tabaraka and Amma) of the Qur'an and 325 of Prophet Muhammad (Allah's Mercy and Praise be upon him) Traditions, which were agreed upon by the two Imams, Al-Bukhari and Muslim (Allah be pleased with them).

Classes for adults offered during fall, winter and spring in rural and urban locations in the Ottawa-Carleton region to improve and upgrade the basic skills of reading, writing and mathematics. Summer programmes also offered. Courses are designed to meet the individual learning needs of the adult learners, e.g.: day-to-day situations, employment opportunities, and preparation for further education. The Family Reception Centre welcomes all newly arriving students (age 4 to 18), who speak a first language other than English and who will be living
within the OCDSB boundaries. The Centre will check documents for school, assess students in literacy, numeracy, English and first language, contact
schools for placement (ESL, ELD (English Literacy Development), regular programmes, special needs), check documents for immunizations (nurse on
site in peak time in late August) and provide information about the school and the community. It is open yearlong.

Literacy programme which offers free tutoring, to adults who wish to improve their basic reading, writing and math skills in English. Volunteer tutors are trained and matched on a one-to-one basis with adult learners, and supported by programme staff. Meetings occur once weekly at a time and place of mutual convenience.
