Offers crisis intervention services to women (including lesbians) victims of violence residing in Gloucester and surrounding area.  Services include: a 24-hour Help Line; information, referral and support services (by telephone or in person); help in locating a safe place; help with emergency transportation or transportation to facilitate links with other community services; and support groups for all women victims of violence.  Also offers a community education programme.

Provides crisis intervention services, short-and long-term counselling and support groups for women of diverse cultural backgrounds who are victims of violence or are experiencing abuse.  Our mandate encompasses wife assault, sexual assault, psychological abuse, emotional abuse and verbal abuse.  Offers anti-racist training to service providers, public education sessions for newcomers and outreach activities for youth.  Also provides information and referral services, and free confidential interpretation services to agencies serving non-English-speaking women who are victims of abuse in order to facilitate their access to services.  Offers on-going training to volunteers in cultural interpretation.  Cultural interpretation service is available 24-hours a day, 7 days a week in over 50 different languages and dialects.

Programme staff available for consultation.  Trained senior volunteers provide one-to-one counselling.  They are supervised by a professional.  Volunteers act as confidential listeners who support seniors as they adjust to changes in their lives.  Length of counselling is dependent upon the client
=s needs.  Counselling takes place in clients= homes or other suitable locations.

Multi-service community-based agency that provides practical, personal support and assistance to community members.  ESL Language programmes.  After 4 and nutrition programme for grades 1-6.  Weekly clothing, craft and parent/child groups.  Drop-in available daily.  Emergency Food Bank serving this area.

FOSTER FARM FAMILY HOUSE

A resource and drop-in centre; provides emergency food for families living in Foster Farm and surrounding area.  
Afters programmes and activities such as: Collective Kitchen, English Basic Language. or Green box - where you pay a monthly fee of $8-$15 for a green box and have it filled up with vegetables and fruits.  Share a coffee, Homework club, a Food bank, a Clothes bank and computer courses are other programmes offered.
